EXERCISE DETERMINES LACK OF OBESITY

A study from Tufts University shows that obesity is associated with eating frequently in restaurants and not exercising, but it is not associated with the amount of fat a person eats.

A second study from Tufts by different authors shows that avoiding obesity is associated with a diet high in fruit, vegetables, reduced-fat dairy, and whole grains and low in red and processed meat, fast food, and soda. With 65 percent of the North American population suffering from obesity, the message is loud and clear. Avoiding obesity does not require avoiding high-fat nuts, avocados, olives and seeds. The most effective way to avoid obesity is to engage in a regular intense exercise program. You should also eat large amounts of foods from plants that have not had their fiber removed, such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, beans, seeds and nuts
